Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a children's book about a caterpillar who eats his way through the pages, leaving caterpillar-shaped holes, to become a butterfly. The story follows the caterpillar as he eats a variety of foods throughout the week, including fruits, chocolate cake, and salami. He makes some poor choices and overeats, but eventually feels better after eating a light meal.
